Tony Young
Tony started writing regularly when the country was locked down by Covid. Three volumes entitled No Vapour Trails charted local and national events week by week. Illustrated by Jane Young these books were sold to raise money for Samaritans. Modern Rhymes followed - a collection of 43 pieces of pathos, humour and cynicism. Tony is now co-authoring The Glastonbury Tales using Chaucer as the model but with contemporary stories from the pilgrims heading to worship the Rock and Roll gods at Worthy Farm.
Sarah Charsley
Sarah is a Brighton-based writer and performer who loves to bring the humour, whether it's through stand-up, poetry or sketch comedy . Sarah's most recent creative venture is spoken word and she has won a place in this year's Hammer & Tongue and Tongue Tied slam finals. Sarah’s poetry and standup draws on her life experiences, bringing lightness, humour and pathos to subjects such as family, loss and the trials and tribulations of the midlife female experience. She also can’t stop writing about dogs.
Ryan Burle
Ryan is a Chichester-based poet and performer whose work blends sharp humour with raw honesty, capturing the chaos, calm, and quiet beauty of being human. He is co-founder and host of Tongue Tied Poetry Slam, Chichester’s only poetry slam, and a finalist in the Hammer & Tongue Brighton Slam (2025 & 2026). His work has been featured on BBC Radio across the South of England. His street project, Poems for Strangers, sees him with a vintage 1960s typewriter, creating poems on the spot for anyone who asks. In 2024, he released his debut collection Write, Flight or Freeze, a heartfelt exploration of the fragility and wonder of life
Neill vexd
Neill is a Spoken Word Performer from Chichester. He runs the website VEXD Spoken Word. Neill writes about everyday life, politics, music and football.
